lamma island pt 2
After exploring the village/landing zone of Yung Shue Wan (榕樹灣) we got lost and then found the walking path to begin our hike to the other side of the island, destination- Sok Kwu Wan (索罟灣). It was a 3 hour long hike. Not too long after leaving familiar sounds of construction and village life behind the path grew more into jungle than neighborhood, abandoned houses and caved roof tops mingling with the vines. The textures and layers peeling back on them clearly telling a story of age and change. A mini destination along this trail is a small beach-like zone and ‘the only organic herb farm in Hong Kong’. While fulfilling our share of beach-ing and herb-sipping we met a cool family from Holland doing the same. Joining forces for the remainder of the journey we happily managed to miss the scheduled boat back home, resulting in feast of fish and drinks on the pier!
