lamma island pt.1
After a couple weeks of hectic city living, Andrea and I decided to take a day off, and lay low off the grid. We met up with our friend David (a New York based fashion designer) and headed to Lamma Island (南丫島).
Lamma Island is located to the southwest of Hong Kong Island, it has an estimated population of 6,000 and 10 villages on the island. Lamma was named after the shape of the island which looks like the fork of a tree.
After a 30mins ferry ride, we’ve arrived Yung Shue Wan (榕樹灣). This village is a mix of residential properties, shops and restaurants. Yung Shue Wan gives a Mediterranean feeling when walking through it, with a progressive community invested in organic and off the grid living.
