竹筒飯 Bamboo rice
Bamboo rice is one of Ulai’s well-known native tribal snacks, it is made by stuffing thick stalks of bamboo with a mixture of rice, vegetables and wild boar meat. Usually sealed with tinfoil and a rubber band, then steamed over hot coals. The result is a filling and flavourful snack that’s perfect for toting along on treks through mountains and jungles.
